Mergetober
Rules
The rules
Read these before you start. Breaking them can disqualify an entry. Also see the WeMakeDevs Code of Conduct.
Dates
The campaign runs from October 1 to 31, 2026, and your PR must be opened in that window to be eligible.
Eligibility
Open to everyone, anywhere, subject to local laws and prize shipping limits. Participation is free.
Solo only
Each submission belongs to one person, and prizes go to the GitHub account that authored the PR.
Integrations only
PRs must build or improve a Cognee integration, tied to an issue labelled INTEGRATIONS and hackathon or to a new integration issue you opened.
Get assigned first
Comment on the issue with your approach and tag @NMZivkovic to request assignment. Don't work on an issue someone else is already working on.
5 issue limit
You can open a maximum of 5 new integration issues, and only for integrations that aren't already in the open issues or already in Cognee. Duplicate or low-effort issues will be closed.
5 open PRs at a time
You can have a maximum of 5 PRs open at a time.
Blog post required
Every PR needs its own public blog post about how you use the integration in the real world.
Don't pressure maintainers
No spamming or pinging maintainers to review or merge. They'll get to it in their own time, and opening the PR in October is what makes you eligible.
Originality
All code and writing must be your own. Plagiarized posts or copied code will be disqualified.
AI use
Using AI to assist you is fine, but any spam or AI-generated PR will lead to a complete ban from WeMakeDevs events.
Repo rules
Follow Cognee's contributing guide, including signed-off commits and the DCO statement.
Code of Conduct
Be kind and respectful to maintainers and other contributors, and follow the WeMakeDevs Code of Conduct.
Judging
The 20 Merged PR Reward winners are picked at random from everyone with a merged PR submitted through the form. Top Contributor goes to the person with the most merged PRs. Best Use Case is judged from your blog posts on how you're using these integrations in real life, based on how practical, useful and clearly explained the use case is.
Prizes
Winners are contacted by email and may need to share payment or shipping details. Winners are responsible for any local taxes or customs fees.
Final decisions
WeMakeDevs and Cognee can disqualify any entry that breaks these rules, and all judging decisions are final.
