What is a vibeathon?

A hackathon where you build with an AI coding agent. You bring the idea and the judgement, the agent helps with the code, and the goal is a working product by the deadline.

Do I have to use Devin?

No, any tool is allowed. Devin Desktop is strongly suggested though: it's the main sponsor's agent, and the event is built around it.

How does the Valkey prize work?

Use Valkey in your project and you're eligible for an extra prize on top of the main prizes. Details are announced before kickoff.

Is it online or in person?

Both, on the same day: Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mexico City time. Build online from anywhere, or join us in the room in Mexico City. The room only seats 80, so register on Luma to get a seat.

How is it judged?

The same way online and in the room: does it work, is the idea worth building, how well you used an AI agent to get there, and how clear the demo is.

What can I win?

Online, the top three teams each win a fully funded trip to Nerdearla: Spain, Argentina or Chile. In the room, the winner takes $2,000 USD in cash and the runners-up win AirPods 5.

Do I need a Nerdearla ticket?

Not to build online: registering on this page is all you need. To join the in-person day you also need to be registered for Nerdearla Mexico, which is free at nerdearla.mx.

Can I come as a team?

Yes. Come solo or create a team when you register and invite your teammates.

What should I bring if I'm in the room?

A laptop, a charger, and Devin Desktop installed and signed in before you arrive.
