Rules

The rules

The same house rules every WeMakeDevs hackathon runs on. The Code of Conduct applies throughout.

  1. 01

    Teams of 1 to 4. Each person can be on one team, and each team files one project.

  2. 02

    Register on this page before you submit. Every member of the team needs a WeMakeDevs account.

  3. 03

    The hackathon runs from November 16, 12:00 AM IST to November 21, 11:59 PM IST. Submissions close at the end of that window.

  4. 04

    The main coding and design work must begin after the hackathon starts. Ideas, notes, sketches and research beforehand are fine.

  5. 05

    Build anything for the festive season. The starting points on the overview are suggestions, not categories, and nothing is judged per category.

  6. 06

    Frameworks, open-source libraries, public APIs and public datasets are all allowed. The work done during the hackathon is what gets judged.

  7. 07

    AI coding assistants are allowed and their use must be disclosed. You have to understand the code you submit and be able to explain it.

  8. 08

    Every submission needs a public repository, a README with setup instructions, and a demo video of the working project.

  9. 09

    Finalists must be in Bengaluru in person on November 25 to compete for the grand prize. A team that can't make it gives its place to the next team.

    Everything you build is yours. Agree on ownership inside your team before you submit.

  11. 11

    Treat participants, organisers, sponsors, speakers and judges with respect. Harassment, plagiarism or tampering with judging gets you disqualified, and the WeMakeDevs Code of Conduct applies throughout.

    WeMakeDevs can disqualify any entry that breaks these rules. Judging decisions are final.
