Rules
The rules of the tour
One rulebook covers all six stops, First Commit included. What's specific to this weekend lives on its own pages: the theme and the tracks on the overview, the hours on the schedule, and the deadline the clock stops on.

Who can enter
- The tour is open to university students across India. You must be 18 or over to register on your own behalf.
- Take part in person when the tour reaches your city, or online from anywhere in India. In-person seats are limited and are given out in the order they are claimed.
- One registration covers all six stops. Register for the tour once, then check in to each hackathon as it opens.
- A WeMakeDevs account and an AWS Builder Center profile are both required. Your entry isn't complete until the Builder Center profile exists and your student status has been verified on it.
- Anyone involved in running the tour, judging it, or working on it for WeMakeDevs or AWS is welcome to attend, but cannot win prizes.

Teams
- Build solo or in a team of up to four. The limit is the same online and in person.
- Every member registers for the tour individually, under their own account. A team is not registered by its captain.
- One submission per team, and one team per person per stop.
- Teams can be mixed: some members at the venue, some online. Nothing about the judging changes if they are.

What you build
The clock is the rule. Everything below follows from it.
- Project work starts when the stop opens and ends at the deadline on that stop's page. Learning, planning and practice before that are fine, and encouraged.
- Prior work doesn't qualify. Bring your skills, not your repository. A project you started before the clock is out, even if you rewrote it.
- Open-source libraries, frameworks, public APIs, boilerplate and starter templates are all fine, as long as the thing being judged is what you added during the event.
- AWS belongs in the project, not in the writeup. Every submission has to use AWS in a way you can point at during the demo.
- AI coding tools are allowed. Name the ones you used in your writeup.
- The work has to be yours. Anything you didn't write needs a credit and a licence that permits the use.
- You keep the rights to what you build. By entering, you allow WeMakeDevs and AWS to show your project and name your team when they write about the tour.

Submissions
- A submission is a public repository, a demo video of two to three minutes, and a short writeup covering the problem, the build, and where AWS fits.
- Submit through your stop's own submission form, once per team, before the deadline shown there.
- A late submission isn't scored, whatever the reason. Submit something early and improve it while the clock runs rather than waiting for it to be finished.
- Anything you can't demo doesn't count. A feature that exists only in the writeup is not a feature.

Judging
- Projects built at the venue and projects built online are judged on the same criteria by the same panel. Each stop lists its criteria on its own page.
- The panel's decision is final, and scores are not published or discussed afterwards.
- Plagiarism, prior work passed off as new, or a repository whose history doesn't match the event window disqualifies the whole team.
- Winners are announced on the stop's page and told by email. Prizes go to the details you registered with, so keep them accurate.

Fast-track interview at Amazon
The one thing on this page that outlasts the weekend.
The rule
Top student projects from Pre-Final Year (2028) & Final Year (2027) will be eligible for a fast-track interview opportunity with Amazon's University Talent Acquisition Team for available roles at Amazon.
- Eligibility is checked against your registration details and your AWS Builder Center profile, so both need to be accurate and your student status verified before the stop you enter.
- Being shortlisted for a prize and being put forward for an interview are separate decisions. One doesn't follow from the other.
- The opportunity is subject to the terms in section 08 below. Read them before you count on it.

Conduct
- The WeMakeDevs Code of Conduct applies at every stop, online and in person, for the whole event and in every channel the tour runs in.
- Harassment, cheating, or abuse of mentors, volunteers or other builders ends your participation, with no appeal.
- At the venue, the venue's own rules and the instructions of on-site staff apply for the duration of the event.
- Report anything to the organisers on the day, or by email, and it will be handled in confidence.

The fast-track interview, in full
These govern the fast-track interview opportunity in section 06. They come from Amazon and are reproduced in full.
- 01No guarantee of employment
- An interview opportunity does not constitute an offer of employment or internship. All candidates must successfully clear Amazon's standard interview and evaluation process.
- 02Subject to business requirements
- Interview opportunities are subject to availability of open roles, team headcount, and business requirements at the time of scheduling.
- 03Eligibility criteria
- Eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in the specified degree programs with the expected graduation year. Students must meet Amazon's minimum eligibility criteria and not be under any active disciplinary action. Detailed eligibility criteria will be shared with students whose projects are shortlisted as top projects.
- 04Selection of top projects
- Selection of top projects is at the sole discretion of the evaluation panel. The decision of the panel is final and binding. No correspondence regarding the evaluation will be entertained.
- 05Timeline and validity
- Interview opportunities must be availed within the stipulated timeframe communicated at the time of notification. Unclaimed opportunities will lapse automatically.
- 06No sponsorship or relocation commitment
- This opportunity does not imply any commitment regarding visa sponsorship, relocation support, or compensation terms, which will be determined independently if an offer is extended.
- 07Right to modify or withdraw
- Amazon reserves the right to modify, suspend, or withdraw this opportunity at any time without prior notice, due to changes in hiring plans or business conditions.
- 08Data usage consent
- By participating, students consent to their project submissions and personal information being shared with Amazon's recruitment team for evaluation purposes.
- 09Non-transferable
- The interview opportunity is non-transferable and applies only to the individual(s) named in the selected project team.
