WeMakeDevs is a global developer community that hosts hackathons, technical events, workshops, livestreams, and developer-focused campaigns with companies building tools for developers.
We are looking for a creative, organized Social Media Manager who can plan and publish content that keeps our global developer community informed and engaged.
Role overview
As Social Media Manager at WeMakeDevs, you will own the day-to-day content flow across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube Community, and other relevant channels. You will work closely with the content, design, video, and partnerships teams to turn events and campaigns into timely, platform-native posts.
Responsibilities
- Plan and maintain the social media content calendar
- Write and publish posts for events, workshops, livestreams, sponsors, winners, and community updates
- Adapt messaging for LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms
- Coordinate with designers and video editors on required assets
- Cover live events and publish timely reminders and follow-ups
- Monitor comments, mentions, and community conversations
- Track performance and share clear insights on reach, engagement, and growth
- Maintain a consistent WeMakeDevs voice across campaigns
- Research relevant developer trends, formats, and content opportunities
- Make quick revisions based on feedback and shifting campaign priorities
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Familiarity with developer tools, APIs, AI, cloud, open source, and technical communities
- Ability to understand technical briefs and ask the right questions when details are unclear
- Strong fact-checking skills and attention to technical accuracy
- Ability to make technical topics accessible without oversimplifying or misrepresenting them
- Has strong written communication and attention to detail
- Understands how content and tone differ across social platforms
- Can plan content while also reacting quickly to live opportunities
- Is comfortable with analytics, reporting, and basic content tools
- Can collaborate with creative and technical teams
- Can manage multiple campaigns and deadlines without losing accuracy
- Has samples of social posts, campaigns, or accounts they have managed
Good to have
- Experience with developer communities, hackathons, startups, or developer tools
- Familiarity with scheduling and analytics tools
- Basic design or short-form video skills
- Experience with community management or live-event coverage
Internship details
- Role: Social Media Manager
- Mode: Remote
- Working hours: Flexible, with availability around scheduled launches and events
- Stipend: ₹50,000 per month
