WhyBase: the company brain that knows why, and knows when it's out of date
Graph HacksOct 2026
Companies forget why they made decisions. The reasoning sits in old ADRs, Slack threads and meeting notes, and the people who knew it leave. Worse, when a decision changes, every doc written under the old decision quietly becomes wrong, and nobody knows which ones. WhyBase stores a company's people, teams, systems, projects, documents and decisions as one FalkorDB graph. You ask questions in plain English ("Why do we use Kafka?", "Who knows payments-ledger?", "What breaks if we reverse D-002?") and an AI agent answers by walking the graph, showing the exact path it took so you can check it. When something changes, you paste the message ("moving the event bus from Kafka to Redpanda"). WhyBase records it as a new decision that SUPERSEDES the old one, then flags every doc that ASSUMES the old decision as out of date and routes the fix to the doc's author, or to an active teammate if the author has left. It's for engineering teams and new joiners who need the "why" behind a system, for tech leads who need to know what a reversal will break, and for managers who need to see which systems only one remaining person understands.
