# Stop Waiting to Feel Ready & Start Building With Bharat Builds

If you are a student and have ever opened a dozen tabs trying to learn something new in cloud, AI or tech in general and closed all of them more confused than when you started, you already know the feeling.

New models, new frameworks, and new tools show up every week, and it is easy to spend more time keeping track of what is happening in the space than actually building anything with it.

You do not need to understand an entire ecosystem before you are allowed to start building. You need one small project and a real reason to solve a problem with it. That is when things start clicking, because you stop trying to memorize what something does and instead learn it by using it, breaking it, and figuring out how to fix it.

To give students in India a good space to learn, implement and build cloud and AI projects we are bringing [Bharat Build Tour](https://www.wemakedevs.org/aws) in collaboration with [AWS Builder Center](https://bit.ly/abc-login). Bharat Builds Tour is a six city hybrid hackathon series running from September to December 2026.

It is built for university students across India who want to move past tutorials and actually ship something. Every event runs online so students anywhere in the country can join, and each city stop also has a limited number of in person seats for the local build day.

The first stop - [First Commit Hackathon](https://luma.com/first-commit) runs from September 17 to 20, with an in person build day in Bengaluru on September 19. Think of it less as a one off event and more as the opening chapter of a series designed to grow with you, from your first cloud project to something you would actually want to put on your resume.

## Getting Started is Simpler Than it Looks

If you are a university student aged 18 or above, verifying your student status unlocks a genuinely useful set of resources: a full year of AWS Skill Builder Premium with access to hundreds of hands on labs and courses, a foundational AWS certification voucher worth 100 dollars, up to 30 dollars in AWS credits you can use on real services, and badges you can start earning as you participate.

Setup your profile using this [LINK](https://bit.ly/abc-login)

Once your profile is set up, you already have everything you need to begin.

## What You Can Actually Build?

You are not sitting through lectures about cloud computing in the abstract. You are working with AWS Workshops, which are free, guided, step by step walkthroughs built by AWS experts that let you deploy real services and see how they connect to each other.

Once you are comfortable with the basics, the AWS Builder Center Toolbox becomes your best friend. It pulls together SDKs, language specific resources, and open source projects in one place, so instead of hunting for the right library or starter template, you spend that time actually building your idea.

And during the hackathon itself, you will have access to AWS experts, dedicated office hours, and a community of other builders working through the same problems you are, which makes the moments where you get stuck a lot less lonely.

## Why This is Worth Your Time?

Every year, students collect certificates and finish courses without ever building something they are genuinely proud of. Bharat Builds flips that around so that you leave with a project you actually made, a certificate, badges on your Builder Center profile, and the kind of practical experience that shows up a lot better in an interview than a list of completed courses ever will.

More than that, you get to be part of a community figuring this stuff out together which is honestly the part that makes the biggest difference when you are just starting out.

## Where to Go From Here?

If you have been putting off learning cloud and AI because it feels too big to tackle all at once, this is your sign to stop waiting.

Set up your [AWS Builder Center](https://bit.ly/abc-login) profile, verify your student status, and pick a small idea you want to build. Everything else, the workshops, the tools, the community, will meet you where you are.
